How To: Paint the texture of water

Paint the texture of water

Watch this instructional painting video to create a water like effect on the surface of canvas, wood or paper. Use acrylic paint and a spray bottle with some paint thinner. Iv done this two times now and they aren't giving me this texture. Does the canvas pre acrylic need to be painted with oil first?
